Who Am I and What's Going On Here?
I'm just a guy in his 50s. I studied engineering in college. I love math and reading and just about everything I ever bumped into. I especially like doing and making things; lots of things of all types. I'm not a perfectionist; rather I'm a "thoroughist". I like to get things right, I'm picky, and I love to complete a project. But "perfect" is usually just too far for me to go. So I'm a thoroughist.

I like to solve puzzles. When I do something new or learn a new skill, I typically bump into a few problems that feel like they should be simpler than they are. As I solve these puzzles, I'll publish the findings here.

As an example. We have an Airstream Basecamp. The battery appears to be weak and needs to be replaced. I dare you to figure out what a good replacement battery is just by looking at the documents the Airstream people give you. I finally figured out the options and how battery sizes work and how to understand the charging characteristics of Li-Ion batteries.
So I'll write up my findings and post that info here. Honestly, it's mostly for me...because I'll forget all of it, and this way I'll know where to find the info when the batteries die again in 5 years. But since it was such a hassle to figure it all out, maybe someone else can read it here and use the info to take a shortcut to their solution.
